Student Cyber-Defense Competition  (10/2/2016, Sunday)

Please email cansecworkshop@gmail.com to register your student blue team(s) or ask questions.

A $30 registration fee per person will be charged separately for competition to help cover the cost of the competition. Lunch, coffee, and light refreshment will be provided for the participants of competition. The registration fee will be collected only through on-site payment. We will accept cash or check. Please make checks payable to "Fontbonne University". Registered competition blue teams:

  • University of Memphis- nulltester

  • Fontbonne University

  • University of Kansas - Louisiana Hot Snakes

  • University of Kansas - The Yogurt Goats

  • Southern Illinois University

  • University of Missouri Kansas City

  • University of Arkansas at Little Rock

  • Kansas State University

To prepare for the competition, each blue team should have a team leader and a faculty coach. Maximally, each blue team can have eight student team members, including the team leader. Each student blue team member should bring a laptop with him/her, which should be able to connect to the wifi. The laptop should install vmware vsphere client and SSH client before the competition.

If a blue team member's laptop is either mac or linux, he/she is recommended to install virtualbox or vmware player in the native OS, then install Windows virtual machine on top of it (recommend Windows 7 from this link https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/ ). Vmware vsphere client could be installed for that Windows VM.

The basic concept of our CDC could be found in this document. Blue team document could be found here. Please set up your basic competition environment for your laptop and read these two documents very carefully before you come to our CDC. This will significantly reduce your learning period time and maximize your achievement during our one-day competition.

Good luck, everyone!
